Situated on Wellington Square the hotel has stood the test of time since 1852 when it was first licensed. It was built in its current form in the 1870's and still retains its old world charm with just the right mix of modern facilities for todays patrons. At the rear of the hotel is one of Adelaides best kept secrets The Garden Atrium Restaurant(featured below). Here you can dine amongst the lush green plants while seated at sandstone topped tables. One big bonus for diners is the wonderful Wood-Fire Oven from which marvellous dishes are produced to tempt even the most fasticios taste buds. Every time "the gazette" has been here, the staff have been terrific and the service is great. There is such a wonderful variety of courses offered and to try describing them all would be impossible. All that can be done is to highlight a few,so here goes. From the basics try the wood oven Pizza and here's a couple to get you started. First up have a go at the Thai Chicken Pizza with the delicate spices of Asia or pehaps a Tandoori Chicken with that mystical Indian flavour. Theres always plenty to choose from when it comes to starters and entree sized meals. In the main course stakes thats one area the Wellinton excells in, BIG JUICY STEAKS. Of course for lovers of Traditional Pub or Seafood you won't be disappointed. Finally sweets. Try not to over indulge yourself because the sweets here are just tops and for the adventureous there is always the Goumet Dessert Pizza. GROUP BOOKINGS are always welcome and you can be assured of personal service if you need help with a menu or price for your function. An added bonus is that on those balmy Adelaide days "alfresco" facilities are right on the square. Rated a "must visit site" that everyone will enjoy.
