The Story
"About Adam" is another of those gleefull, witty and charming irish comedies that we are all
growing to love. If you enjoyed the delightful "When Brendan Met Trudy" then you are sure to enjoy this delightful
comedy starring Kate Hudson, Francis O'Connor, Charlotte Bradley and introducing Stuart Townsend
as the sexual scalliwag Adam. "About Adam" tells the tale of one mans encounter with three
sisters who all love the excitement, charm, sex and love that he brings to them. Adam is a real
charmer, even the girls mother thinks he is wonderful. Their brother thinks he is the messiah
after he turns his [the brothers] girlfriend from a cold sexless women into a real love machine.
But are things as they really appear. Is Adam really the shy, harmless young man devoted to only Lucy?
There is certainly no smut in "About Adam" and that's what makes this film even better, it's all
good fun. Clean fun. "About Adam" has a well constructed story, a terrific cast and the direction of Gerard Stembridge
has produced a "little beauty", a genuinely funny film that flows smoothly and has no flat spots. I have to agree with
some of the overseas critics though. The only problem with "About Adam" is that it is all over too soon. So if your looking
for a good laugh, a good story and a happy ending, get out and get in to see "About Adam". You certainly won't be disappointed.
