Insight
I have always been a big fan of Morgan Freeman and I certainly enjoyed him in "Kiss the Girls", "Seven" and "Nurse Betty" to just name three biggies, but I am pleased to say that Morgans latest film "Along Came A Spider" is another thrilling, twisting, crime thriller, far above his previous works that will grip you to the very end. Alex Cross [Morgan Freeman] is a shattered man. He's about to close down another case when his partner is exposed. In the ensuing chase it all goes horribly wrong and she is tragically killed. These opening scenes and the special effects really set the stage and the pace of "Along Came A Spider". Alex hasn't worked for eight months since the incident, but he is about to receive a challenge, a wake up call that will see his career revived. Megan Rose attends a high security learning centre for children of parents who hold high office and fear their kids may be at risk. Despite their elaborate security it doesn't stop Mr Mercuzio [Michael Wincott] alias Gary Soneji from staging a daring kidnap involving Megan. When her footwear turns up in Alex's mailbox he is drawn into a spiders web of clues and intrigue. Initially he believes Soneji will not harm Megan and so he panders to his ego by building him up through the media. But there are far sinister forces at work. Ther's a spider weaving a deadly web of twists, turns and deceit that will test Alex at every opportunity. Who they are is a mystery that dogs Alex but he must find the answer and he must save Megan! The trouble is, someone wants her dead. It's a dealy race against time and evil where there can only be one winner and one outcome!
The Verdict
