"For this third installment of the American Pie films, writer Adam Herz pens some of the funniest situations since curious high-school senior Jim Levinstein first made love to an apple-pie." Shaun Sages MOVIE NAVIGATOR
"American Wedding, in fact, is so tasteless, so fiendishly puerile that it’s hilarious."
Kelly Borgeson PREMIERE MAGAZINE
"This is the funniest of the three movies. The new characters and the tighter focus are just what the series needed."
Eric Harrison HOUSTON CHRONICLE
"The movie is enormously, convulsively funny, and it never lets up -- it has no shame."
Scott Foundas LA WEEKLY
"The fastest, funniest, wildest entry in the series."
Colin Covert MINNEAPOLIS STAR TRIBUNE
"If all weddings were this fun, I wouldn’t mind going to them."
Danny Minton KBTV-NBC
"Fans of the first two "American Pie" movies should definitely come back for a third slice. Everyone else might want to cautiously poke at it with a fork first."
Rob Thomas CAPITAL TIMES
"An energetic, raunchy comedy that's funnier and more creative than the last film."
Bill Muller ARIZONA REPUBLIC
"The makers of American Wedding know what pleases its target audience -- and the movie delivers the goods, even if some are recycled."
Philip Wuntch DALLAS MORNING NEWS
" Calling American Wedding unabashedly and unashamedly crude, lewd and rude is to concede it achieves exactly what it set out to do."
Louis B Hobson, JAM! MOVIES
"Once again, as in the first two movies, there is a lot of talk about sex and a lot of attempts to have sex, but the sex that actually occurs is almost entirely respectful, monogamous, and really quite sweet."
Nell Minow, MOVIE MOM

Inside American Pie 3
What can one write that has not already been written about the gang from "American Pie" and in particular that sweet couple Jim Levinstein & Michelle Flaherty. They feel like part of the family after watching them both mature through two previous 'pie' movies. There's shy Jim who has matured from a randy pie shagging college student, to an accomplished anophonist [a person who plays a musical instrument with their arse], who turned down sex with the ravishing Nadia and, even though every effort has been made by the Stifler to corrupt his sensitive soul is now ready to settle down and marry his sweetheart. And then there's Michelle, a self confessed nymphomaniac and proud off it. Full of wisdom and encouragement for her Jim with catchy little phrases like, "You'll have to stop masturbating Jim. It's killing your brain". Now isn't that so sincere and delightful. After all these years it brought a tear to my eye as I watched them tie the knot. With their proud parents looking on this was indeed a magical moment in the lives of two typical young americans. That is a story in itself.
"There was a moment on the set of "American Pie II" when Adam and Chris were talking and I said, 'Please don't tell me you've got an idea for another one of these things', producer Craig Perry
says. Then Adam mentioned his idea about a wedding, complete with a batchelor party and everything, and I thought damn that's good." "I wasn't so much afraid of 'topping' the first two, because I didn't think of it that way," says Herz. "I just came at it asking, is what follows a natural progression in the lives of these characters? Is it real? And obviously and all-importantly, is it funny?" The guys were also aware that another sequal could be taken to mean that they were perceiving the "American Pie" theme to be just an money spinner. Not according to producer Chris Moore "We were all proud of what we were able to do with Amercian Pie and American Pie II, and we didn't want to look like those cheesy old guys who were just remaking the movie over and over again to make money." Writer and producer Adam Herz explained, "This is a trilogy about the rites of passage in these characters lives. The first was about losing your virginity. The second is about that strange transition into the beginnings of adulhood, like, 'who am I, who are my friends and whats going on?' The third, well a wedding, naturally, what else?" Moore reinforces that by adding, "We made a pact of our own on American Pie II, that of we were going to do it, we needed to get it right, and I think we honoured that agreement in the third installment."
So what have been the contributing factors that have made the American Pie films so successful and let me say that after seeing The Wedding, its just as good, if not better than its predecessors. Bender says it's because, "Everyone can relate to the Pie characters. I mean, everyone has a Stifler friend, a Finch friend. And everyone has a little Jim in them." Moore says, "It's a testament to Adam's script that we were able to get everyone back that we wanted." Perry offered, "These actors have good careers and for them to want to return to characters that they have already played is great. But Adams script is really funny. It was the key to their return." So what do the cast think about a third installment and getting back together again? Their response is just as enthusiastic as Moore, Herz, Perry and Bender. "I initially had some reservations mainly about how they were going to come up with a story, says Jason Biggs
, but Adam, who wrote the first two brilliantly, has come back and done an amazing job using the wedding to implement some amazing set pieces." Alyson Hannigan said, "Once I heard about the wedding, I knew it was going to be really funny. I sort of thought, Well, lets see, he did it twice, so the third times probably a charm. And of course, it was. This has all the sweetness and laughs of the first two." January Jones who makes her Pie debut as Michelles sister recalls, "I was a bit nervous on the first day. I mean I loved the first two movies, everyone I know did. But I kinda felt like I might be some sort of party crasher, and I was so wrong. After the first day, and everyone was so nice and helpful, I thought, Now why did I ever worry?" Sean William Scott summed it up this way, "I thought we were so fortunate that people liked the first two and I didn't want to do anything that would take away from peoples enjoyment of the movies. Then I read the script and it just ruined me. It was the funniest thing I'd ever read." Eddie Kay Thomas summed it up this way, "It's so rare to find a really funny script, let alone three in a series. I also think it's rare for comedies not to assume that their audiences are idiots or childish. Our stories have the ring of recognition like, Oh man, I did that too!" "American Pie - The Wedding" is directed by Jesse Dylan and stars Jason Biggs ["Saving Silverman" & "Loser"], Sean William Scott ["Bulletproof Monk", "Road Trip" & "Old School"], January Jones ["Bandits", "Full Frontal" & "Anger Management"], Eugene Levy ["A Mighty wind", "Bringing Down The House" & "Once upon A Crime"], Fred Willard ["A Mighty Wind, "Waiting For Guffman" & "Best In Show"], Alyson Hannigan ["My Stepmother is an Alien"], Thomas Ian Nicholson ["Rookie of the Year" & "The Rules Of Attraction], Eddie Kay Thomas ["Taboo", "Sheer Bliss" & "Mr Jealousy"] and Deborah Rush ["The Good Girl", "In & Out", "Bad Company" & "You've Got Mail"].
The Synopsis
"Although the movie cheerfully offends all civilized notions of taste, decorum, manners and hygiene, it has a sweetness that is impossible to discount, and it is often very funny." Roger Ebert CHICAGO SUN-TIMES
Jim Levinstein has decided it's time to pop the big question to Michelle Flaherty. No, he doesn't want their sex life spiced up and he doesn't want a head job in the middle of the most important moment in his life. Jim just wants to make Michelle his wife. Well ain't that sweet. Well almost. Little do the future Mr & Mrs Levinstein know, there can't be a wedding without the Stifler. Thats alright, no-ones told the 'Stifmiester' about the wedding. But how long can they keep the big event a secret? Not for long and Stifler is not impressed when he hears the news. But you can't keep the 'Stifmiester' down. When he discovers Jim can't dance, the 'Stifmiester' is back on the wedding list. Why? Because while Stifler may not have many good points he has the one big one Jim needs. He can teach him to dance. Let the wedding celebrations rip. With 'Stifler' on the team everyone is in for one hell of a time and that includes Michelles spunky sister Cadence.
The Verdict
"For those who love a piece of pie, "American Pie The Wedding" is pie eaters heaven. It's rude, it's crude, it's homophobic, it's rauchy, it's demeaning and downright disgusting. Disgustingly funny that is. Leave any shred of taste or decency you have at the box-office and guts down as much pie as you can. "American Pie The Wedding" will have you in stitches. It's the best tasting pie in the whole damn shop."
