The Story
The life of a chicken is not an easy one, especially if you happen to live in the concentration style farm run by Mr & Mrs Reedy. Here your life expectancy is measured by egg production. Stop laying and that means stop living under the ruthless conditions. But Mrs Reedy is not happy to be a poor egg producer, she has ambition and that means making chicken pies and big profits. When the chickens realize whats about to happen they decide its time to fly the coop. But how do they do it, fly that is. Enter a dare devil rooster named Rocky who convinces the flock that he can teach them the art of flying that will lead to a mass escape. His training methods leave much to be desired but the hijinx are very funny. There's a romantic bond between Rocky and the escape happy Ginger even if Rocky is not all he leads them to believe. Where will it all lead and will our chickens find freedom, true happiness and love. Take the whole family along for what will definately be a great fun outing at Chicken Run where all will be revealed on the greatest escape of all time in this delightful and charming animated movie.
Supporting Stars
Its easy to forget that we are dealing with clay models and hidden human faces here because Chicken Run is such an engrossing movie and the characters are just so believable. The support here is just wonderful from both the modellers and the voices that fit the characters so well. Really though in the grand scheme of Chicken Run all the characters at the Reedy's chicken farm are such standouts in their peformances on screen.
