Freddie Prinze Jr stars as Fred
"The monsters are the highlight of the film, and if history is any guide, there will be more ghosts and evildoers for our wholesome heroes to battle in Scooby-Doo 3."
Christina Talcott WASHINGTON POST
"It's made for kids and they will absolutely LOVE this! The monsters are as fun as the ones from the original Ghostbusters!"

What The Critics Say
Linda Cardellini as Velma
"Those who got a kick out of the first film, be it through nostalgia or kidly wonder, will probably find its sequel an equally entertaining, silly, campy, comic diversion that clips along at an engaging pace."
Mike Bell JAM! MOVIES
"It's silly stuff, but the cast is likable, and the chemistry between real-life husband and wife Prinze and Gellar is affecting."
Nancy Churnin, DALLAS MORNING NEWS
"Zoinks! It's a rare case of a sequel being better than the original. Maybe by the time they get around to Scooby-Doo 3, they'll get it right."
Cherryl Dawson and Leigh Ann Palone THEMOVIECHICKS.COM
"Another spooky-doo comedy for tykes who think Scooby's doo-doo is funny."
Mike Clark USA TODAY
"Like a slightly better version of the first Scooby movie, this one is content to faithfully reproduce stuff from the cartoons without adding anything."

They're back. Yes those chartoon characters who brought great joy to the kids on the small screen are back again for another big screen adventure. Who's you're favourite doggie? Well I have two favourites. Inspector Rex, the real life german shepherd police dog who stars in his own crime investigation show on SBS television and, yes, you guessed it, Scooby-Doo. What do you reckon kids? Yeh Scooby-Doo, that's who. Scooby-Doo is back again with his Mystery Inc friends Fred, Daphne, Velma and of course, his best-est pal, Shaggy. Fresh from the success of their last crime solving adventure in Scooby-Doo, the action this time round is in their hometown of Coolsville where they are downfallen celebrities blamed for attacks by some of their old enemies who have been mysteriously revived.
"The gang has to confront old enemies in a very new way," says screenwriter James Gunn
. "Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed is the story of people being unmasked in many different ways. Not only does the gang have to solve this mystery and identify the villain who is creating these monsters, but they have to confront the fact that they each have their own ways of putting on masks for other people." Gunn says there was a lot of close collaboration "with director Raja Gosnell and producers Charles Roven and Richard Suckle to hone the Scooby-Doo 2 script and create "an even more compelling mystery" for Mystery Inc.'s second big screen adventure. "Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed is the story of people being unmasked in many different ways," Gunn explained. "Not only does the gang have to solve this mystery and identify the villain who is creating these monsters, but they have to confront the fact that they each have their own ways of putting on masks for other people." And they find out what it's like to be on the other side of the fence when they are blamed for the chaos that follows the release of the monsters. Producer Richard Suckle notes, "As the gang discovers, success can be fleeting, and it doesn't necessarily define you. In the process of solving the mystery, they learn that what they perceive to be their weaknesses are actually their strengths."
Those two scaredy-pants Shaggy and Scooby-Doo are trying to find their strengths in "Monsters Unleashed" by stepping into the breech and showing that for once, they can be just as clever, just as brave as Fred, Daphne and Velma. "Shaggy and Scooby vow that they're going to become great detectives, just like their heroes Fred, Daphne and Velma," Raja Gosnell
says. "They set out to prove themselves, but every time, they get it wrong. Sometimes they get it way wrong." James Gunn adds, "Shaggy and Scooby think that the way to be heroes is to be tough, to find the clues, to defeat the monsters. But they ultimately discover that they've been heroes to their friends all along. Velma, Fred and Daphne admire them for the way they're free with themselves, for their sense of humor and their loyalty." There are plenty of surprises in store for Scooby fans and the biggest of all is that romance is blooming for one of our Mystery Inc super sleuths. No, not Scooby-Doo. And no, I'm not telling. My lips are sealed and you'll just have to see the film to find out the answer to that secret.
What I can tell you is that there are monsters galore such as the Black Knight Ghost, the Skelemen, the Pterodactyl Ghost, Captain Cutler's Ghost, and Miner 49er. That Seth Green stars as Patrick Wisely
Coolsville Museum curator; "Everybody Loves Raymond" star Peter Boyle plays villain Jeremiah "Old Man" Wickles [formerly the Black Knight Ghost], Alicia Silverstone appears as investigative television reporter Heather Jasper-Howe and that the special effects are fantasticly good.

The Story
"More loyal to the classic show than the first film, Scooby-Doo finds his live-action niche in the highly entertaining sequel." Jeff Otto IGN FILMFORCE
The guys and gals from Mystery Inc are back again. This time to battle old foes mysteriously revived from costumes used in a display ay the Coolsville Museum. What should have been a fabulous opening night for Fred, Daphne, Velma, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo has turned into a disaster. And now investigative reporter Heather Jasper-Howe has turned public opinion against them. Time for two unlikely heroes to step into the breech and attempt to show everyone that they can be just as brave, just as smart as the other Mystery Inc members. It's time for Shaggy and Scooby-Doo to take on the monsters and win the day. But the monsters have other ideas.
The Verdict
" Great monsters, terrific special effects and that most loveable dog Scooby-Doo. What more could you want in the school holiday period? How about lots of laughs, thrills and spills as the Mystery Inc gang go into battle against their old enemies. You've got it in "Scooby-Doo 2:Monsters Unleashed". It's cool fun."
