SEAN EADIE
On winning the 200m gold....
"Yeh I'm wrapped. Its a heavy night, three hundredths off the quickest I've ever gone so I'm
really happy. Hopefully it will carry on through the rest of the championships".
On his chances of winning the sprint gold....
"If I just continue the form I've had all season I should give it(the title) a good shake".
On selection in the squad....
"I'm not an official or an administrator, I don't pick teams I just ride my bike. So if they
pick me great, if they don't pick me naturally I'm gonna be disappointed and upset,
but ultimately there's nothing I can do about it. I've got great form here and if thats not good
enough..well it's not good enough".
On winning that sprint final
"Yeh its been a long time coming...I'm 31 this year, 10 years of riding my bike, haven't got a moments
regret but two national titles in two nights I'm just over the moon".
That clever move on Neiwand
"At that point it was the only chance I had left so there was never a moments hesitation. National
championships, this is it, this could possibly be the decision for the olympic squad so you've just got
to take every chance offered to you".
BRETT AITKEN
On winning the 20K Scratch gold
"We(roberts/bates/aitken) worked perfectly as a team".
How the gold was won
"In the end we were the smarter team and thats what really mattered. There was a lot of teams out
there sort of having a go. In the end we had to just play the cards we had...we played them really
well and it worked to a charm".
On the Olympic Madison event
"I think the madison is a race I honestly believe I can win on a good day".
On missing out on the ride-off for Teams Pursuit gold
"Yeh I pulled my foot...it wasn't a good day. The pedals were the same ones that Lucy used at the
Commonwealth Games".
On going for fastest finals time
"We want to redeem ourselves. Whats important really important is to prove we were the best team".
LYNDELLE HIGGINSON
On winning the 500m Individual Time Trial
"Definately, winning here today has put me in a strong position. Well taking two riders it doesn't
really matter whose one or two just so long as you both get a ride ".
Chances in the Points race
"I'll start the points race on Sunday and see how I go This (the championship programme) is probably
four times longer than anything ride we race at...like the Qantas Cup, it's just a whole different
kettle of fish".
Are you happy with your results so far
"Yeh definately. Yep I mean I can't really complain about being beaten by Michelle she's second in the
world, second in the Olympics...so I've performed as good as I hoped to..I'm happy".
Overseas commitments
"We go overseas on the 19th of May, we go to Colorado for a couple of days and then on to the world cup".
MICHELLE FERRIS
On that number one sprinters spot
"I really want to prove to the world that I'm better than second place."
On winning the Sprint gold
"Oh definately. To get back after last years disappointments, the injury, Lyndelle having a pretty good
year in all the domestic races, it was good to get one up especially a national title".
On the pressures of winning
"I think the pressure mainly came from myself really. Really really wanting to get on top of her(higginson)
giving myself a good opportunity to see where I'm at".
On Lyndelle Higinson
"It's probably the best thing that could have happened to me for my training preperation. You know
she pushes me every day in training and I push her, our training is competition every day. It's
probably the best thing that happened for both of us".
PETER DAWSON
On winning two Gold medals
"Yeh it's been good, Kevin MacIntosh & manager Rick Lee, my parents, the Institute of Sport they've all helped
me out heaps this year. It's been good".
Team work and that great Points Race win
"The boys, we've been working together for a long time now so it came together on the one night and
it's been good".
Future plans
"I'll be entering a lot of big races over here in the future. I'd like to think I was good enough to ride the Athens
Olympic Games 2004 and the Commonwealth Games in 2002...the teams pursuit, individual pursuit"
